Terms and Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions outline the rules, policies, and responsibilities when booking a trek with Manaslu Treks & Expedition. We want our guests to enjoy a flexible and hassle free experience, so our terms are written to be clear, fair, and traveler-friendly.

1. Booking Policy

  • You do not need to pay in advance to confirm your trek with Manaslu Treks & Expedition.
  • Reservations can be made online, through email, or via WhatsApp, and payment is required only after your arrival in Nepal.
  • Once you confirm your trip, we guarantee your departure date — even if you are a solo traveler.
  • For certain peak season treks, we may request a small deposit to secure flights or hotels, but this will always be communicated transparently in advance.

2. Payment Policy

  • Full payment can be made upon arrival in Nepal before the trek begins.
  • We accept payments in cash (USD, EUR, NPR, GBP, AUD) or through bank transfer/online payment (service charges may apply).
  • Any bank transfer fees are the client’s responsibility.

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that travel plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to give you flexibility and peace of mind.

  • Cancellation at least 5 days before trek departure: no cancellation fee.
  • Cancellation within 5 days of departure: you may postpone your trek to a future date or transfer the booking to another person.
  • If you cancel after starting the trek, refunds are not possible for services already utilized (permits, accommodations, guides, porters).
  • Flight cancellations due to bad weather (e.g., in Lukla) will be handled as per airline policies. We will assist with re-bookings or alternative travel arrangements.

4. Postponement and Trip Transfers

  • If you cannot travel on your original date, you can postpone the trek to any future date without extra charges.
  • Bookings can be transferred to friends or family members if you cannot join.
  • You can change your trek type (e.g., upgrade to include Tsum Valley) by adjusting costs accordingly.

5. Itinerary Flexibility

The Himalayan region is unpredictable. Weather, trail conditions, or your personal health may require adjustments.

  • Our guides may modify the route for safety reasons.
  • Clients may also request extensions, side trips, or shorter itineraries. We will do our best to accommodate changes.
  • Extra costs for additional days or services (lodges, food, transport) are the client’s responsibility.

6. Travel Insurance

  • All clients are strongly advised to have travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking, medical emergencies, evacuation, and trip cancellation.
  • Proof of insurance may be required before starting the trek.
  • Manaslu Treks & Expedition is not responsible for expenses due to lack of insurance coverage.

7. Health and Safety

  • Clients must inform us of any medical conditions or allergies before booking.
  • Our guides are trained in first aid and high-altitude awareness.
  • We reserve the right to stop or alter a trek if a client’s health is at risk.
  • Clients are responsible for following the guide’s safety instructions.

8. Responsibilities of Manaslu Treks & Expedition

  • Provide licensed, experienced guides and porters.
  • Arrange all permits, accommodations, and logistics as agreed.
  • Ensure safety standards and provide first-aid kits during treks.
  • Be transparent about costs with no hidden fees.

9. Responsibilities of Clients

  • Carry valid travel documents (passport, visa, insurance).
  • Respect local culture, customs, and the natural environment.
  • Follow the guide’s instructions during the trek.
  • Cover personal expenses not included in the trek package (drinks, snacks, souvenirs, personal gear).

10. Liability

  • Manaslu Treks & Expedition is not liable for injuries, illnesses, or accidents beyond our control.
  • We are not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by weather, natural disasters, political strikes, or other unforeseen events.
  • We will, however, do everything possible to assist and support you in such situations.
